Tip Tuesday: 11/8/16
A tool used for grating food such as citrus, spices, cheeses, etc. A microplane gives you a finer grated product than what you would get from a boxed grater. I would usually use this with citrus for all things such as vinaigrettes and sauces, or to grate parmesan finely. But when doing citrus do not grate the pith (white part) because it is bitter and will ruin your hard work. It is also great for garlic and ginger instead of dicing. It is a tool that i believe that everyone should have in their kitchen arsenal.
